Toolroll

Terms of Use

Last updated 25 August 2026

These terms cover your use of Toolroll, an app for iPhone and iPad. They are written to be read, not to be survived. If something here is unclear, ask at toolroll@clayj.app and it will be clarified.

The short version. Toolroll is free to use. There is one optional purchase, made once, that never expires and never renews. Your snippets are yours, they stay on your device, and you can take them out at any time.

Using Toolroll

You may use Toolroll on the devices associated with your Apple Account, under the terms of the App Store. There is no account to create and no sign-in.

You are responsible for what you save. Do not use Toolroll to store content you do not have the right to keep, or to do anything unlawful.

The purchase

Toolroll offers a single optional in-app purchase that unlocks the full reach of the app.

Payment is handled by Apple, not by us. We never see your payment details.

What the free version does

Every part of Toolroll works without paying, and saving is never limited. The paid unlock extends how far the keyboard, widget and other surfaces reach into your collection — it does not switch features on and off.

Your content stays yours

What you save in Toolroll belongs to you. We claim no rights over it, and we never receive it — it stays on your device. See the privacy policy for how that works.

Nothing you have saved is ever deleted, locked, or withheld from export — whatever you have paid or not paid. Your snippets remain readable, searchable and exportable as plain Markdown, always.

Refunds

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under their policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue them ourselves. If something is not working, write to toolroll@clayj.app first — a fix is usually quicker than a refund.

Changes to Toolroll

Toolroll will change over time: features will be added, and occasionally something will be reworked or removed. If a change would meaningfully reduce what a paid unlock gives you, that will be stated clearly in the release notes rather than done quietly.

Warranty and liability

Toolroll is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. It is a tool for storing your own text and files; it is not a backup service, and it should not be the only place something important exists.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost data or lost time. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Ending these terms

You may stop using Toolroll at any time by deleting it. Deleting the app removes your snippets from the device, including anything saved by its keyboard, widget and share extension.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections of your own local law.
